Welcome to Garrowhill Bowling Club's website
Our club had it's first opening day in May 1937 at which time there were 23 members.
Over the years we have grown to having two fine greens and 320 members.
We are situated in Garrowhill Park on the east edge of Glasgow. If you need directions to find us enter your starting address or postcode in the Find Garrowhill box on the left.
Originally located within Lanarkshire boundary the club was affiliated to the Lanarkshire Bowling Association (LBA) but following boundary changes the area of Garrowhill was incorporated within the city boundary of Glasgow and became also affiliated to the Glasgow Bowling Association (GBA). The club continues to be involved with both associations and takes part in the competitions of both associations frequently hosting visiting competitions and finals.
The club is always happy to receive applications for membership from any standard of bowler. We have a junior bowlers section for young bowlers* aged 10 to 16 years. Contact the Club Secretary for further information about joining.
Our activities are not confined to the outdoor bowling season. An all year long social programme is managed by our Vice Presidents and each month there is at least one social event held in our clubhouse. In winter we have short carpet bowls every weekday. There are also a range of social activities arranged by our ladies section such as coffee mornings every Wednesday to which all lady members and friends are invited.
*Parents or guardians who would like to introduce their children to bowling should contact the Club Secretary for information about coaching classes.
